As Principal, I want to express how important your child and his or her successes are to the Prass staff.
The mission of Kettering Schools, in partnership with the family and community, is to guarantee a superior educational learning experience for all students by providing a positive and innovative learning environment, while responsibly utilizing resources.
At Prass Elementary School, we nurture the growth and development of the whole child in a supportive and positive atmosphere so that one day all students may accomplish their dreams. We value communication between the school and community.
Through collaboration we will provide an engaging environment that promotes academic and social emotional excellence for all students. Together we will encourage our students to use critical thinking skills, be thoughtful communicators, engaged collaborators, global citizens and foster a love for lifelong learning. Celebrate School Attendance 🎉
Cultivating a quality learning environment involves daily engagement and participation of our students. This starts with daily attendance. Attendance is a key component of your child's academic success and social emotional well-being. The school tardy bells rings at 8:15. STUDENTS MUST BE IN THEIR CLASSROOMS WHEN THE BELL RINGS OR THEY WILL BE MARKED TARDY. If you are dropping your child off after 8:15, you are required to accompany him/her into the office and sign in. It is good practice to get your child to school by 8:05 to ensure time to transition into the classroom. NOTE: Breakfast closes at 8:10.
OSUEXTENTION"FROMFARMTOFORK"PROGRAM🌽
🎓 Big news — we've teamed up with The Ohio State University Extension Office for their incredible "From Farm to Fork" program, and our third graders are going to LOVE this! Starting this fall, OSU Extension Educators will be visiting our third grade classrooms for hands-on adventures with composting, vermicomposting, soil health, and food systems — the kind of real-world learning kids remember forever. And it's all grant-funded, so it costs our school nothing!
The best part? Our third graders will get to take everything they learn and put it into action right here at home, helping care for and grow Mary's Garden. Prass third grade teachers, Mrs. Dipple, Mrs. Fielman, Miss Roalef, and KCS STEAM Integration Coach have spent time collaborating to develop this unique opportunity for our students! We can't wait to see our students dig in, get their hands dirty, and make a real difference in our school community. Stay tuned for a fun science-fair-style showcase and a spring field trip to The Foodbank to top it all off! We ARE Engaged Collaborators! #POF 🎓
